President
As President, Landers Symes directs project conception and management, leads development of strategic growth plans and oversees all major aspects of the business.

Landers joined Symes in 1993. Utilizing his business degree and military management and operations experience, Landers worked to learn all aspects of the business from the nuts and bolts of building a house to managing subdivisions and planning for strategic growth. In 2003, Landers took over as President of the company.

Landers graduated from Norwich University Military College of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Management in 1987. After graduation Landers was commissioned as a 2LT Medical Service Corps in the United States Army and served in Operation Desert Storm.

Landers lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their four children in Rockport.

Jeffrey Rhuda

Business Development Manager
Jeff Rhuda joined Symes in 1997, bringing an experienced background in evaluating markets for development.

Jeff began his real estate career in 1981 as a sales associate with Carlson Real Estate, a 40 office national residential brokerage firm. After numerous years as one of the top 25 residential brokers nationwide, Jeff was put on the company's Executive Board and promoted to Vice-President, managing over $2 billion in real estate transactions.

A member of Citizens' Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA), The Public Policy Committee of Home Builders Association of MA and the Beverly Main Streets Committee. Jeff has also served as advisor to the Pioneer Institute, the Rappaport Institute and was appointed by Governor Mitt Romney to the Governors 40B Task Force.

Jeff lives with his wife and three children in Beverly.

Steven Feinstein

Director of Finance
Steve Feinstein serves as the Director of Finance and oversees accounting, finance and human resources. Steve has over 20 years of real estate experience and joined Symes in 2011. Steve has worked at Boston Residential Group, AEW Capital Management and Price Waterhouse.

Steve graduated Magna Cum Laude with an accounting degree from Boston University. Steve is the founder of the Performing Arts Parents Group at the Higgins Middle School and is an active member of the community.

Steve lives with his wife and two children in Peabody.

Albert Symes
Albert Symes
Founder
Al Symes founded Symes Associates in 1967. He passed leadership of the company to his eldest son, Landers, in 2003. A conservationist and outdoorsman at heart, Al is constantly exploring better ways to bring much needed housing to the marketplace while consuming less land and creating minimal disruption to the environment.

Following graduation from West Point in 1962, Al served in the Air Force for five years. A proactive supporter of smart planning, Al is a member of the Green Neighborhood Alliance. Al is also a Founding Trustee of Stoneham Theatre and served as its first Chairman.

Al lives in Rockport with his wife Barbara. He has five children and 12 grandchildren.
